  3. If you are like me, you probably have a standard set of programs you start
  4. (in the 3.1 Startup Group or in Win.Ini on the load= or run= lines) each
  5. time you boot Windows. Sometimes, such as when you install new software,
  6. you need to have nothing running, so you must close all those open
  7. applications. Or perhaps, different times you boot your computer, you need
  8. to work on totally different projects, say software development, or data
  9. analysis. Wouldn't it be nice when you start windows to be able to select
  10. different configurations of apps that are to be run (or loaded)?

  12. Introducing Get-Set, a simple utility program that allows you to select one
  13. of several configurations to be executed at the start of Windows. Get-Set
  14. supports multiple, user configurable, configurations. It has an automatic
  15. startup feature that will automatically boot a selected default configuration
  16. after a time limit has elapsed. You can create many different configurations.
  17. Each one contains a list of programs to be run or loaded.

  21. There are several minor changes to this release:
  22.  
  23. 1. You are shown the icon of each program you add in the configuration
  24. screen and the icon of each program as it is being activated.
  25. 2. You are able to mark a given program in a configuration as disabled.
  26. This means it will not be activated but will still remain in the
  27. configuration (this is nice if you don't want something to run
  28. temporily).
  29. 3. A password option has been added for each setup. You can specify a
  30. password and you will be required to enter it when that configuration is
  31. run. NOTE, this is not a very secure password algorithm, please keep that
  32. in mind.
  33. 4. Some improvements were made to the configuration screen (based on your
  34. feedback).

  36. There is no charge for this release, but ownership and copyright remain
  37. with SET Inc.
